This is a list devoted to the discussion of Linux and Linux-related issues, including but not limited to newbie help, configuration issues, the future of Linux, Linux projects, and just about anything with the word 'Linux' in its description. It was created to prevent too much Linux-specific traffic from polluting the members@acm and acm@acm lists. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the Linux Archives.
Using Linux
To post a message to all the list members, send email to linux@acm.jhu.edu. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Linux
Subscribe to Linux by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a public list, which means that the list of members list is available to everyone. (but we obscure the addresses so they are not easily recognizable by spammers).
